Description

Triumeq (Abacavir Dolutegravir Lamivudine) is an antiviral agent. It is typically used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Triumeq (Abacavir Dolutegravir Lamivudine) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food.

WARNING: Patients with hepatitis B or C (liver infections caused by a virus) may be at increased risk for worsening or development of transaminase (liver enzyme) elevations with use of Triumeq. Appropriate laboratory testing prior to initiating therapy and monitoring for hepatotoxicity (liver toxicity) during therapy with Triumeq is recommended in patients with hepatic diseases such as hepatitis B or C.

In addition to its desired action, Triumeq (Abacavir Dolutegravir Lamivudine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause depressed mood, loss of appetite, joint and muscle pain.
It may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar level).
It may cause fever, insomnia (difficulty falling asleep), headache.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to abacavir, dolutegravir, lamivudine, or any component of the formulation, concomitant dofetilide (a heart rhythm medicine), moderate or severe liver impairment.

Taking Triumeq (Abacavir Dolutegravir Lamivudine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
