Description
Differin (Adapalene) is an anti-acne agent. It is typically used to treat common forms of acne. It works by reducing the number of acne-blocked oil glands (plugs or comedones) and preventing their formation. It may also have other uses.

Differin (Adapalene) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. For topical external use only, not for oral, ophthalmic (eye), or intravaginal use. Moisturizers may be used if necessary. Apply a thin layer of adapalene before bedtime after washing the area with a gentle cleanser and drying gently with a towel. It should be applied to all the areas that are prone to acne, this may include the chest and back as well as the face. WARNING: For external use only, avoid contact with abraded, broken, eczematous (an inflammatory condition of the skin characterized by redness, itching, and oozing vesicular lesions which become scaly, crusted, or hardened), sunburned skin, eyes, lips, and angles of the nose. Wax depilation is not recommended. Use is associated with increased susceptibility/sensitivity to UV light, avoid sun lamps or excessive sunlight exposure. Daily sunscreen use and other protective measures are recommended if sun exposure cannot be avoided. In addition to its desired action, Differin (Adapalene) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause dry skin, exfoliation of skin, redness of skin, burning sensation of skin, stinging of the skin. It may cause skin abnormalities, skin irritation, sunburn. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to adapalene or any component of the formulation. Taking Differin (Adapalene) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Differin (Adapalene) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
