Description
Alta Amlodipine (Amlodipine) is an antianginal and antihypertensive agent. It is typically used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain). It may also have other uses.

Alta Amlodipine (Amlodipine)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily in the usual range (2.5 mg - 10 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure) can occur, Initiate at a lower dose in the elderly. Use Amlodipine with extreme caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve opening), may reduce coronary perfusion resulting in ischemia (low blood flow). Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Alta Amlodipine (Amlodipine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause peripheral edema (water retention). It may cause flushing, palpitation, abdominal (stomach) pain, nausea, muscle cramps and dyspnea (shortness of breath). It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, male sexual disorders or problems. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Amlodipine or any component of the formulation, severe hypotension (low blood pressure), breastfeeding, shock (including cardiogenic shock), obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (e.g., high-grade aortic stenosis or narrowing), hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). Taking Alta Amlodipine (Amlodipine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor.
