Description
Agrylin (Anagrelide) is a blood thinner. It is typically used to treat a condition called thrombocythemia, where your body produces too many platelets (cells in your blood that help clots to form when you bleed). It may also have other uses.

Agrylin (Anagrelide) is typically used four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with heart diseases. Use with caution in patients renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with mild-moderate hepatic (liver) impairment. In addition to its desired action, Agrylin (Anagrelide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause back pain, chills, constipation, decreased appetite, diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, shortness of breath. It may cause fatigue, flushing, gas and bloating, headache, irregular heartbeat, edema (swelling). It may cause nausea, ringing in the ears, skin irritation (redness and itchiness), stomach pain, sweating, vomiting. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to anagrelide or any component of the formulation, severe hepatic (liver) impairment. Taking Agrylin (Anagrelide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Agrylin (Anagrelide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
