Description
Otezla Starter Kit (Apremilast) is an immunosuppressive agent. It is typically used to treat adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis (raised red patches covered with a whitish buildup of dead skins cells called scale). It may also be used to treat adults with psoriatic arthritis (a type of arthritis (pain and inflammation of the joints) that affects some people with the skin condition psoriasis). It may also have other uses.

Otezla Starter Kit (Apremilast) is typically taken once in the morning on day 1, then twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Apremilast tablets must be swallowed whole with some fluids. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablets. It may be taken with or without food. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Apremilast can cause severe diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting, which in turn can lead to dehydration, low blood pressure and also contribute to heart problems. It may cause weight loss, monitor weight closely. This medication may contribute to episodes of depression or thoughts of self-harm. In addition to its desired action, Otezla Starter Kit (Apremilast) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, or vomiting. It may cause back pain, flu-like symptoms (e.g., body aches, fever, fatigue), fatigue, headache, dizziness, or trouble sleeping. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to apremilast or any component of the formulation. Taking Otezla Starter Kit (Apremilast) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Otezla Starter Kit (Apremilast) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
