Description
Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) is a systemic corticosteroid agent. It is typically used for the treatment of joint diseases such as arthritis, severe allergic reactions and many disease including some hormonal, blood, gastric, kidney and cancers. It may also have other uses.

Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with heart failure and hypertension (high blood pressure), it may be associated with increased bone loss and bone fractures. Use with caution in patients with liver, kidney and brain impairment. Because of the risk of adverse effects, systemic corticosteroids should be used cautiously in the elderly in the smallest possible effective dose for the shortest duration. May affect growth rate, growth should be routinely monitored in pediatric patients. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, bradycardia (slow heart rate) and heart failure It may cause edema (water retention), hypotension (low blood pressure) and palpitations. It may cause injection site reaction, edema (water retention) and nausea. It may cause amenorrhea (stop of period), headache, increased brain pressure, insomnia and malaise. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to any component of the formulation, intramuscular administration contraindicated in immune thrombocytopenia (deficiency of platelets in the blood. This causes bleeding into the tissues, bruising, and slow blood clotting after injury. Herpes simplex (viral infection) of the eye, systemic fungal infections, vaccinia, cerebral (brain) malaria, use in areas with local infection. Taking Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Celestone Soluspan (Betamethasone)
