Description
Enstilar (Betamethasone Calcipotriol) is a corticosteroid and vitamin D agent. It is typically used for the treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis (dry, raised, red skin patches (lesions) covered with silvery scales) of the body or moderate to severe psoriasis of the scalp by adults. It may also have other uses.

Enstilar (Betamethasone Calcipotriol)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with known or suspected disorders of calcium metabolism. Avoid excessive exposure of treated skin to natural or artificial sunlight. Absorption of corticosteroid is increased by the use of occlusive dressings or application to large surface areas and may lead to many side effects. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Enstilar (Betamethasone Calcipotriol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause burning sensation of the skin, skin irritation, and headache. It may cause an increased sensitivity to sunlight. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to calcipotriene, betamethasone, or any component of the formulation, viral (herpes simplex, varicella, vaccinia), fungal, or bacterial infection of the skin, parasitic infections, calcium metabolism disorders, mouth infections, fragility of skin veins, many skin infections like: acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, rosacea. Severe liver disorders, severe kidney insufficiency (gel only). Taking Enstilar (Betamethasone Calcipotriol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Enstilar (Betamethasone Calcipotriol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
