Description

Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin) is a combination of an antibiotic agent and a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used to treat inflamed skin (dermatosis) that may be infected by bacteria. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin) is typically applied to the affected area two or three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For topical use only. Occlusive dressing may be used for refractory lesions or deep-seated dermatoses.

WARNING: Allergic contact dermatitis (when a substance to which you're sensitive (allergen) triggers an immune reaction in your skin) can occur. Discontinue therapy if contact dermatitis develops.

In addition to its desired action, Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause burning, irritation, itching, redness, or dryness of the skin 
It may cause increased redness or scaling of the skin sores
It may cause skin rash 

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to betamethasone, gentamicin, or any component of the formulation, viral diseases including chicken pox (an infectious disease causing a mild fever and a rash of itchy inflamed pimples which turn to blisters and then loose scabs), herpes simplex (a viral infection which may produce cold sores, genital inflammation.), and vaccinia (the cowpox virus which is used to vaccinate against smallpox), tuberculosis (an infectious bacterial disease) of the skin, ophthalmic (eye) administration.

Taking Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.

A treatment with Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Valisone G (Betamethasone Gentamicin)
