Description

Avastin (Bevacizumab) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat a certain type of brain tumors, and certain types of cancers of the kidney, liver, lung, colon (an organ that is part of the digestive system), rectum (the final section of the large intestine). It may also have other uses.

Avastin (Bevacizumab)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Avastin (Bevacizumab) to you in a hospital or clinical setting.
WARNING: Avastin can increase bleeding risk. Call your doctor if you have: signs of bleeding in your digestive tract--feeling very weak or dizzy, severe stomach pain, black or bloody stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds, or signs of bleeding in the brain--sudden numbness or weakness, slurred speech, severe headache, problems with vision or balance.
In addition to its desired action, Avastin (Bevacizumab) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause an high blood pressure, high blood sugar level.
It may cause abdominal pain, decreased appetite, diarrhea.
It may cause fatigue, headache, sleep disorders, peripheral edema (swelling).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to bevacizumab, any component of the formulation, untreated Central Nervous System metastases (a cancer that has spread).
Taking Avastin (Bevacizumab) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
A treatment with Avastin (Bevacizumab) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Avastin (Bevacizumab)
