Description
Calcimar (Calcitonin Salmon) is a calcium regulator agent. It is typically used for the treatment of symptomatic Paget’s disease of bone (chronic bone disorder), for the treatment of hypercalcemia (a higher-than-normal level of calcium in the blood), and for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis (a progressive loss of bone tissue that begins after menopause). It may also have other uses.

Calcimar (Calcitonin Salmon)'s dosage depends on condition/body weight. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Calcimar (Calcitonin Salmon) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: There is evidence that calcitonin salmon injection may increase the risk of developing certain types of cancer when used for a long time. Calcitonin salmon injection should be used for the shortest time possible. In addition to its desired action, Calcimar (Calcitonin Salmon) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause a decreased appetite, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, injection site reactions. It may cause metallic taste in the mouth, nausea, ringing in the ears, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to calcitonin salmon or any component of the formulation. Taking Calcimar (Calcitonin Salmon) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
