Ci Cal D (Calcium Vitamin D) is a calcium and vitamin D supplement. It is typically used to treat or to prevent low blood calcium and vitamin D levels. It may also have other uses.

Ci Cal D (Calcium Vitamin D)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this supplement with food or within 1 hour after a meal. WARNING: Use caution when administering calcium supplements to patients with a history of kidney stones (hard deposits made of minerals and salts that form inside the kidneys). Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) failure to avoid hypercalcemia (a condition in which the calcium level in the blood is above normal). In addition to its desired action, Ci Cal D (Calcium Vitamin D) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, unusual weight loss, hypercalcemia (a condition in which the calcium level in your blood is above normal), signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine). It may cause bone, muscle pain, headache, increased thirst, increased urination, weakness, tiredness. Contraindications: Do not use if you have hypercalcemia (high blood calcium), primary hyperparathyroidism (a condition in which one or more of your parathyroid glands become overactive and release (secrete) too much parathyroid hormone (PTH)), sarcoidosis (an inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands, a part of the body's immune system), hypervitaminosis D (high blood vitamin D), decreased kidney function, constipation, Williams syndrome (a rare genetic disorder characterized by growth delays before and after birth). Taking Ci Cal D (Calcium Vitamin D) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method.
