Description
Taro Cefprozil (Cefprozil) is an antibiotic. It is typically used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, ears, skin, and throat. It may also have other uses.

Taro Cefprozil (Cefprozil)'s dosage depends on your condition. It may be taken with or without food. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Long-term use of Cefprozil may cause it not to work anymore in the future (resistance), more bacteria and fungi to grow (superinfection), and bacteria that do not die (resistance). Cefprozil only treats bacterial infections, not viral infections such as the common cold. Use with caution in patients with a history of penicillin allergy, kidney disease (dose may be adjusted), or a history of antibiotic-associated colitis (pseudomembranous colitis) which causes severe, bloody diarrhea. In addition to its desired action, Taro Cefprozil (Cefprozil) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches. It may cause diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. It may cause vulvovaginal infection (itching and irritation in the vagina and vulva, burning sensation, especially during intercourse or while urinating.) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Cefprozil, any component of the formulation, or other cephalosporins (similar agents). Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Taro Cefprozil (Cefprozil) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
