Description

Vioform HC (Clioquinol Hydrocortisone) is an anti-infective agent (used to prevent or treat infection). It is typically used to treat skin infections and to help relieve redness, itching, and discomfort from many skin problems. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Vioform HC (Clioquinol Hydrocortisone) is typically used two to three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes. Apply a thin film to clean, dry skin and rub in gently. Use of occlusive dressings is not recommended. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with thyroid (gland in the neck) abnormalities.
In addition to its desired action, Vioform HC (Clioquinol Hydrocortisone) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause allergic skin reaction, skin rash.
It may cause hair discoloration, hair growth.
It may cause dyschromia (abnormal pigmentation of the skin).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to clioquinol, hydrocortisone, chloroxine, iodine, iodine-containing preparations, or related compounds, eye lesions (abnormal tissues on the eye), tuberculosis of the skin (skin infection) or other viral infections of the skin. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor.
