Additional information
Procytox (Cyclophosphamide)'s dosage depends on the condition, the response to therapy, other medications used, and body weight. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. It should be taken first thing in the morning to reduce the risk of bladder problems, with food. Drink plenty of fluids (7 to 12 cups a day). This helps to prevent bladder and kidney problems. Swallow whole, do not crush or chew. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: This medication can reduce the number of platelet cells in the blood. Platelets help the blood to clot, and a shortage could make you bleed more easily. It may cause low blood cell count (anemia). Cyclophosphamide can reduce the number of cells that fight infection in the body (white blood cells). Avoid contact with people with contagious infections. It may cause liver toxicity (hepatotoxicity), leading to liver damage. Inflammation of the heart and irregular heart rhythms have been reported with cyclophosphamide use. In addition to its desired action, Procytox (Cyclophosphamide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause diarrhea, fatigue, feeling of being generally unwell, and headache. It may cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and temporary loss of hair (returns after treatments end, although texture or color may change). It may cause fever or chills with cough or hoarseness, burning or pain with urination, sores in mouth and on lips, and prickling, tingling, or numbness in the arms or legs. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cyclophosphamide, its metabolites, or any component of the formulation, obstruction to the urine flow. Taking Procytox (Cyclophosphamide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Procytox (Cyclophosphamide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Procytox (Cyclophosphamide)
