Description
Restasis (Cyclosporine) is an immunosuppressive agent. It is typically used to increase tear production when suppressed tear production is presumed to be due to keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eyes)-associated ocular (eye) inflammation. It may also have other uses.

Restasis (Cyclosporine) is typically used twice daily (around 12 hours apart). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. To avoid contamination, do not touch bottle tip or vial tip to eyelids or other surfaces. Prior to use, invert bottle or vial several times to obtain a uniform emulsion. Prime multidose bottle for first-time use by squeezing 2 drops onto a tissue (do not let bottle tip touch tissue). may be used with lubricant eye drops, allow 15-minute interval between products. WARNING: Remove contact lens prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting In addition to its desired action, Restasis (Cyclosporine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause eye pain, burning sensation of eyes It may cause foreign body sensation of eye, redness, sensitivity to light, blurred vision Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cyclosporine or any component of the formulation. Taking Restasis (Cyclosporine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Restasis (Cyclosporine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
