Description
PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone) is a hormonal agent. It is typically used to help relieve the symptoms of patients with prostate cancer. It may also have other uses.

PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone) is typically used as 300 mg (1 ampoule) once per week. After orchidectomy (surgery to remove one or both testicles), it is used as 300 mg (1 ampoule) every 2 weeks. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. The injections must be administered very slowly. Androcur Depot is strictly for intramuscular injection. Treatment should not be interrupted, nor the dosage reduced after improvement or remissions have occurred. WARNING: Must not be given below 18 years of age and before the end of puberty. Use with caution in heart disease, in patients with a history of depression. Use with caution in patients with diabetes. Ethanol should be avoided during treatment. In addition to its desired action, PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause reduced sexual interest (decreased libido), swelling of the breast, impotence It may cause abnormal sperm, low sperm count which may be reversible after the medication is discontinued. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cyproterone or any component of the formulation, liver disease or dysfunction, previous or existing liver tumors, presence or history of tumors on membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord, severe chronic depression, existing thromboembolic processes (formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel) Taking PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone) during pregnancy is harmful for the baby. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.PMS Androcur Depot (Cyproterone)
