Description
Diane 35 (Cyproterone Ethinyl Estradiol) is a combination of hormonal agents. It is typically used for the treatment of women with severe acne, unresponsive to oral antibiotic and other available treatments,
with associated symptoms of androgenization (the development of male sexual characteristics), including seborrhea and mild hirsutism. Mild hirsutism is excess hair on the face, chest, abdomen or legs whereas seborrhea is a condition associated with excess oily secretions of the skin. It may also have other uses.

Diane 35 (Cyproterone Ethinyl Estradiol) is typically used once a day at about the same time every day for 21 days. Swallow it whole with some liquid. Continue until the pack is empty. Do not take any medication for the next 7 days. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. A missed dose may be taken within the next 12 hours. If >12 hours, discard unused tablet and resume at usual scheduled times. It can be taken with or without food. You must not be off the tablets for more than 7 days in a row. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with risk factors for heart disease (e.g., high blood pressure, diabetes, increasing age, or women who smoke). Use with caution in patients with depression. Use with caution in patients with diseases which may be exacerbated by fluid retention, including asthma (respiratory condition causing difficulty in breathing), epilepsy (abnormal brain function), migraine, diabetes, or heart or renal (kidney) dysfunction. In addition to its desired action, Diane 35 (Cyproterone Ethinyl Estradiol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause breast pain, tenderness, or swelling, brown, blotchy spots on exposed skin It may cause discomfort wearing contact lenses, excess hair growth on face, chest, legs It may cause hair loss, increased or decreased interest in sexual intercourse, irritability It may cause menstrual pain, headache, nervousness, depression Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ethinyl estradiol, cyproterone, or any component of the formulation, breast cancer or other estrogen- or progestin-dependent cancers (known or suspected), history of thromboembolic disorders (disorders related to formation in a blood vessel of a clot), heart disease, previous or existing liver tumors or active liver disease, pregnancy, undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, some eye problems, concomitant use with other estrogen/progesterone combinations or estrogens or progestins alone, concomitant use with the hepatitis C (liver infection caused by a virus) combination regimen of ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, with or without dasabuvir. Taking Diane 35 (Cyproterone Ethinyl Estradiol) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Diane 35 (Cyproterone Ethinyl Estradiol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
