Description
Cyclomen (Danazol) is an antigonadotropic agent (agent that affects hormone levels). It is typically used to treat endometriosis (a condition in which tissue that is normally only in the uterus (the hollow, muscular organ of women in which the embryo develops) grows outside of the uterus) and to relieve pain caused by benign (non cancerous) breast disease. It may also have other uses.

Cyclomen (Danazol) is typically used in two to four divided doses daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer consistently with regards to food, either always administer with food or administer on an empty stomach. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with conditions cardiovascular (heart) diseases. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) diseases. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) diseases (monitor liver function tests and monitor closely for potential liver toxicity during therapy). In addition to its desired action, Cyclomen (Danazol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause edema (swelling that is caused by fluid trapped in your body's tissues), mood changes. It may cause decrease in breast size, skin rash, increased liver enzymes, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). It may cause constipation, nausea, vomiting, visual disturbance. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to danazol or any component of the formulation, undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, pregnancy, breastfeeding, porphyria (a group of liver disorders in which substances called porphyrins build up in the body, negatively affecting the skin or nervous system), markedly impaired liver, kidneys, or heart function, history of hormone-related cancer, active or history of thrombosis (clotting of blood within an artery or vein so that the blood flow is reduced or impeded). Taking Cyclomen (Danazol) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Cyclomen (Danazol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Cyclomen (Danazol)
