Description
Sprycel (Dasatinib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat a type of leukemia (blood cancer). It may also have other uses.

Sprycel (Dasatinib) is typically used once daily, in the morning or in the evening, with or without food. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: This medication can cause abnormal heart rhythms, especially for people who have certain heart problems (e.g., congenital long QT syndrome), who are taking medication(s) to control heart rhythm (e.g., amiodarone, disopyramide, quinidine, sotalol), who have received high doses of anthracycline chemotherapy (drugs used in cancer treatment: daunorubicin, doxorubicin, mitoxantrone), or who are prone to low potassium and magnesium blood levels. In addition to its desired action, Sprycel (Dasatinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, cold symptoms (e.g., runny nose or nasal congestion, sore throat, fatigue), cough. It may cause diarrhea, fatigue, fever, headache, inflammation of mucous membranes (e.g., inside the mouth). It may cause muscle, joint, or bone pain, nausea, sinus infection, vomiting Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to dasatinib, breastfeeding. Taking Sprycel (Dasatinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Sprycel (Dasatinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
