Description

Apo Deferasirox (Deferasirox) is an iron-chelating agent. It is typically used for the treatment of chronic iron overload caused by blood transfusions or other medical conditions leading to excess iron in the body. It may also have other uses.

Apo Deferasirox (Deferasirox) is typically used once daily according to your body weight, for the treatment of chronic iron overload caused by blood transfusions or other medical conditions leading to excess iron in the body. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer at same time each day on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food.

WARNING: It may cause skin rash, stomach hemorrhage (bleeding), liver damage. 

In addition to its desired action, Apo Deferasirox (Deferasirox) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause diarrhea, flatulence (gas), nausea and vomiting
It may cause water retention, fatigue, anxiety, fever.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to deferasirox or any component of the formulation, patients with other blood disease who are not expected to benefit from this therapy (due to rapid progression of their disease)

Taking Apo Deferasirox (Deferasirox) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Apo Deferasirox (Deferasirox) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
