Description
Dexlansoprazole (Dexlansoprazole) is typically used for acidity and acid reflux. It is typically used for the healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (a condition where the lining of the esophagus, the swallowing tube, is damaged by the backup of reflux, or stomach acid) and the treatment of heartburn. It may also have other uses.

Dexlansoprazole (Dexlansoprazole) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer without regard to meals, capsules should be swallowed whole, do not chew. Alternatively, patients who are unable to swallow capsules may open the capsule, sprinkle the intact granules onto 1 tablespoon of applesauce, and swallow intact granules immediately (do not chew granules). Do not save applesauce and granule mixture for later use. Capsules may also be opened for administration via oral syringe. WARNING: increased incidence of osteoporosis (weakened bones)-related bone fractures of the hip, spine, or wrist may occur. In addition to its desired action, Dexlansoprazole (Dexlansoprazole) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea (mild) It may cause gas, headache, nausea Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to dexlansoprazole or any component of the formulation, concomitant use with products that contain rilpivirine. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Dexlansoprazole (Dexlansoprazole) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
