Description

Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose) is an antiglaucoma agent. It is typically used in the treatment of elevated intraocular (inside the eye) pressure in patients with ocular hypertension (a condition where the pressure inside the eye is higher than normal) or open-angle glaucoma (eye damage that is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in the eye). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose) is typically used three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. If more than one topical ophthalmic (eye) drug is being used, administer the drugs at least 5 minutes apart. Remove contact lens prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Use with caution in patients with low endothelial cell counts (Endothelial cells form the barrier between vessels and tissues).
In addition to its desired action, Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause bitter taste, burning, stinging, unusual tiredness or weakness.
It may cause dry mouth, eye discharge, headache, nausea, redness of the eyes, tearing (eyes produce excess teardrops).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to dorzolamide or any component of the formulation. Taking Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
A treatment with Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Trusopt UD (Dorzolamide unit dose)
