Additional information
PDP Erythromycin (Erythromycin) is typically given one or more times daily, depending on the severity of the infection. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Wash hands before use. Remove tube cap. Tilt head up when looking in a mirror. Gently pull down the lower eyelid until there is a “pocket”. Apply a ribbon of ointment 0.5-1 cm along in this pocket. Let go of the lower eyelid and close the eye for 30 seconds. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying PDP Erythromycin (Erythromycin). These can be re-inserted 15 minutes after application of the ointment. Do not touch tip of applicator or let tip of applicator touch eye to avoid contamination. If you are using another eye medicine, wait at least 15 minutes before applying the other medicine. In addition to its desired action, PDP Erythromycin (Erythromycin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause allergies, minor eye irritation, or redness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to erythromycin or any component of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PDP Erythromycin (Erythromycin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
