Description

Ran Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole delayed-release) is typically used to treat and prevent acidity and acid reflux. It is typically used for the short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD (acid reflux), long-term treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome by adults. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Ran Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole delayed-release) is typically taken once in the morning. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Esomeprazole should be taken in the morning, 30 minutes before breakfast. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not crush, break, or chew. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist.

WARNING: This medication may increase the risk of a severe form of diarrhea, characterized by very loose, watery, or bloody stools. The prolonged use of high-dose Esomeprazole increases the risk of developing frail bones, making patients more prone to fracture their hip, spine, or wrist. Long-term treatment for more than 2 years may cause low levels of vitamin B12. This effect decreases after stopping the medication. Low levels of magnesium may occur as well with prolonged treatment. Use with caution in patients with liver disease. In case of severe liver disease, the dose should be reduced. Also, Esomeprazole may diminish the therapeutic effect of Clopidogrel (a blood thinner medication).

In addition to its desired action, Ran Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole delayed-release) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause headaches, diarrhea, or constipation.
It may cause gas, indigestion, nausea, or vomiting.
It may cause low magnesium levels, mood changes, muscle pain, weakness, cramps, or spasms.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Esomeprazole or any component of the formulation. Do not use this product if you are currently taking Rilpivirine, a medication used to treat HIV/AIDS (a virus that attacks the body's immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome)).

Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.

A treatment with Ran Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole delayed-release) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Ran Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole delayed-release)
