Description
Vepesid (Etoposide) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat certain types of lung cancer, lymphoma (cancer of a part of the immune system called the lymph system) and cancer of the testicles. It may also have other uses.

Vepesid (Etoposide)'s dosage depends on the condition/body weight. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. This drug should be taken on an empty stomach. WARNING: This drug may lower the ability of your bone marrow (a soft fatty substance in the cavities of bones) to make blood cells that your body needs. This can lead to needing a blood transfusion and very bad and sometimes deadly bleeding problems or infections. Tell your doctor right away if you have signs of infection like fever, chills, or sore throat, any bruising or bleeding, or if you feel very tired or weak. This drug can reduce kidney function, use with caution in patients with kidney problems. This drug can reduce liver function, use with caution in patients with liver problems. In addition to its desired action, Vepesid (Etoposide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause alopecia (sudden loss of hair especially of the scalp or face), nausea and vomiting, appetite loss. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to etoposide or any component of the formulation, severe kidney or liver disease, severely reduced levels of white blood cells (part of the body's immune system) or platelets (blood cells that help blood clot). Taking Vepesid (Etoposide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Vepesid (Etoposide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
