Description
Med Exemestane (Exemestane) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat certain types of breast cancer in women after menopause (the process women go through that causes their periods to end). It may also have other uses.

Med Exemestane (Exemestane) is typically used once daily. The dose may change depending on the evolution of the disease. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug after a meal. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with liver and kidney disease or uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure). Reductions in bone mineral density (test that measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are in an area of your bone) over time are seen with exemestane used. In addition to its desired action, Med Exemestane (Exemestane) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause insomnia (difficulty falling asleep), pain, headache, depression. It may cause hot flushes (sudden feeling of warmth in the upper body), weight gain, high blood pressure. It may cause nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to exemestane or any component of the formulation. Taking Med Exemestane (Exemestane) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Med Exemestane (Exemestane) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
