Description
Fluphenazine (Fluphenazine) is an antipsychotic agent. It is typically used for the symptomatic management of psychotic disorders (mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and perceptions). It may also have other uses.

Fluphenazine (Fluphenazine) is typically used one to three times per day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with severe heart disease, with liver impairment, renal (kidney) impairment, history of seizures (abnormal brain activity). When discontinuing oral antipsychotic therapy, gradually taper antipsychotics In addition to its desired action, Fluphenazine (Fluphenazine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause drowsiness, lethargy, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, loss of appetite, sweating, dry mouth, blurred vision It may cause headaches, constipation, heart problems, eye problems Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to fluphenazine or any component of the formulation, coma, brain damage, in patients receiving large doses of hypnotics (induce and/or maintain sleep), liver disease Taking Fluphenazine (Fluphenazine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
