Avamys Nasal Spray (Fluticasone) is a corticosteroid. It is typically used to manage seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (runny nose). It may also have other uses.

Avamys Nasal Spray (Fluticasone) is typically sprayed twice in each nostril once a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Avoid using this product in patients with recent nasal surgery or nasal trauma until healing has occurred, as it can delay wound healing. Prolonged use of corticosteroids may also increase the incidence of other infections, mask infections (including fungal infections), prolong or exacerbate viral infections, or limit response to vaccines. In addition to its desired action, Avamys Nasal Spray (Fluticasone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, feeling unwell, malaise, or dizziness. It may cause nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, or toothache. It may cause irritation of the nose. It may cause congestion of the nose, or dry nose. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Fluticasone or any component of the formulation. Taking Avamys Nasal Spray (Fluticasone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product.
