Description
Apo Fosinopril (Fosinopril) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), heart attacks and heart failure. It may also have other uses.

Apo Fosinopril (Fosinopril) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It may be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Drugs such as Fosinopril can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Fosinopril should not be used by pregnant patients. Angioedema, a serious allergic reaction that causes the area around the throat and tongue to swell, may occur with Fosinopril (especially after the first dose). In black patients, the effects of Apo Fosinopril (Fosinopril) may be less pronounced. Fosinopril may cause a dry, persistent cough that usually disappears after stopping or decreasing the dose. Fosinopril may cause decreased kidney or liver function. Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease, dose adjustment may be recommended. In addition to its desired action, Apo Fosinopril (Fosinopril) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hypotension (low blood pressure), or orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure that happens when standing up from sitting or lying down). It may cause dizziness, flushing, or syncope (fainting). It may cause alopecia (hair loss), diaphoresis (excessive sweating), erythema (redness) of the skin, pruritus (itching), skin photosensitivity (skin sensitive to the sun), or skin rash. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Fosinopril or other ACE inhibitors (similar agents), or any component of the formulation. Patients who experienced angioedema (swelling of the lip, eyes, and face) related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor (similar agents), or from an unknown cause, or suffer from hereditary angioedema should not use this product. Diabetic patients who are concomitantly taking Aliskiren should not take Fosinopril. The coadministration with or within 36 hours of switching to or from a neprilysin inhibitor (e.g., Sacubitril) is not recommended. Taking Apo Fosinopril (Fosinopril) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
