Description
Apo Gefitinib (Gefitinib) is an antineoplastic or anticancer agent. It is typically used as a first-line treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in tumors with epidermal growth factor receptors. It may also have other uses.

Apo Gefitinib (Gefitinib) is typically given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Gefitinib exposure is increased in patients with mild, moderate, and severe hepatic (liver) impairment due to cirrhosis so you should monitor for adverse reactions if administering to patients with moderate or severe hepatic (liver) impairment. Diarrhea occurs in approximately one-third of patients, diarrhea symptoms should be managed as clinically indicated, avoid dehydration and withhold gefitinib for severe or persistent (up to 14 days) diarrhea. Stomach perforation has occurred (rarely), discontinue permanently if stomach perforation develops. Skin reactions occurred in nearly one-half of Patients taking gefitinib including (severe bullous, blistering, or exfoliating dermatologic conditions). Respiratory, liver and eye toxicity were reported in a few cases. In addition to its desired action, Apo Gefitinib (Gefitinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause respiratory infections, dizziness and skin rash. It may cause abdominal pain, decrease appetite, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It may cause protein in the urine, infection of the stomach, nail disease and dehydration. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to gefitinib or any component of the formulation. Taking Apo Gefitinib (Gefitinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Gefitinib (Gefitinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
