Description

Maviret (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) is an antiviral agent. It is typically used to treat adults and adolescents with long-term (chronic) hepatitis C (an infectious disease that affects the liver, caused by the hepatitis C virus). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) is typically taken as 3 tablets once daily for 8, 12, or 16 weeks. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food. If you vomit after taking a dose of Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) and it has been less than 3 hours since you took the dose, take another dose. If you vomit and it has been more than 3 hours since you took the dose, do not take another dose.
WARNING: Finish all Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir), even if you have started to feel better. This medication is prepared with lactose. If you have lactose or galactose intolerance you should not take Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir). For people with diabetes, blood glucose (sugar) control may improve. If you have diabetes, discuss with your doctor how Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir), and whether any special monitoring is needed.
In addition to its desired action, Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause nausea, fatigue, headache It may cause pruritus (itchy skin), diarrhea, liver damage
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to glecaprevir, pibrentasvir, or any component of the formulation, moderate or severe liver impairment, history of liver damage, coadministration with atazanavir or rifampin.
Taking Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Maviret  (Glecaprevir Pibrentasvir) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
