Description
Apo Hydroxyurea (Hydroxyurea) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used for the treatment of resistant chronic myeloid leukemia (type of cancer that starts in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow and invades the blood). It is also used to treat head and neck cancer. It may also have other uses.

Apo Hydroxyurea (Hydroxyurea) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer at the same time each day. Swallow whole, the manufacturer does not recommend opening, breaking, or chewing the capsules. For patients unable to swallow capsules, an oral solution may be prepared. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment, may require dose reductions. Elderly patients may require lower doses. In addition to its desired action, Apo Hydroxyurea (Hydroxyurea) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation It may cause skin changes such as peeling or discoloration, flu-like symptoms, hair loss, rash It may cause headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, weight gain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to hydroxyurea or any component of the formulation Taking Apo Hydroxyurea (Hydroxyurea) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Hydroxyurea (Hydroxyurea) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
