Description

Inflectra (Infliximab) is an immunosuppressant agent. It is typically used to treat certain types of arthritis (joint inflammation such as rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis of the spine, psoriatic arthritis), certain bowel diseases (inflammation in the intestines such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), and a certain severe skin disease (such as chronic plaque psoriasis). It may also have other uses.

Inflectra (Infliximab)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Inflectra (Infliximab) to you in a hospital or clinical setting.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain). Use with caution in patients with heart problems. Patients receiving infliximab are at increased risk for serious infections that is usually developed in patients receiving concomitant immunosuppressive agents (similar agents). If an infection develops, monitor carefully and stop this drug if infection becomes serious.
In addition to its desired action, Inflectra (Infliximab) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause abdominal pain, back pain, cough, diarrhea, shortness of breath, rash. It may cause dizziness, fatigue, headache, upset stomach, infection, nausea.
Contraindications: Previous severe hypersensitivity to infliximab, or any component of the formulation, doses >5 mg/kg in patients with moderate or severe heart failure (a condition that develops when your heart doesn't pump enough blood for your body’s needs).
Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Inflectra (Infliximab) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Inflectra (Infliximab)
