Description
SDZ Labetalol (Labetalol) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

SDZ Labetalol (Labetalol)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer SDZ Labetalol (Labetalol) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis (characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control) In addition to its desired action, SDZ Labetalol (Labetalol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause low blood pressure, dizziness (weak or unsteady). It may cause headaches, nausea, edema (swelling), headache, vomiting. It may cause nasal congestion (the blockage of the nasal passages), dyspnea (shortness of breath). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to labetalol or any component of the formulation, severe bradycardia (a slower than normal heart rate), heart block (a blockage in the conduction of the normal electrical impulses in the heart) greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock (a serious condition that occurs when your heart cannot pump enough blood), bronchial asthma (a disease that affects the lungs). Taking SDZ Labetalol (Labetalol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
