Description

Apo Lamivudine HBV (Lamivudine) is an antiviral agent. It is typically used to treat people with chronic hepatitis B (liver disease caused by a virus) infection and evidence of hepatitis B virus replication (reproduction). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Apo Lamivudine HBV (Lamivudine) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food.
WARNING: Severe worsening of hepatitis (liver inflammation) has occurred in patients who have stopped taking anti-hepatitis B therapy (including APO-LAMIVUDINE HBV). Your doctor will monitor your condition in this case and may resume therapy. APO-LAMIVUDINE HBV is not recommended during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Do not stop treatment with APO-LAMIVUDINE HBV without your doctor’s advice. Your doctor will advise whether you should breastfeed your baby while you are taking APO-LAMIVUDINE HBV. in patients with unrecognized or untreated HIV (the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)), HIV-resistance may develop when treated with this drug (when the treatment does not work anymore). In addition to its desired action, Apo Lamivudine HBV (Lamivudine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause water retention, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea.
It may cause low blood pressure, cold extremities, difficulty sleeping.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to lamivudine or any component of the formulation.
Taking Apo Lamivudine HBV (Lamivudine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Apo Lamivudine HBV (Lamivudine) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
