Description
Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) is glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is typically used to improve blood sugar levels by adults with type 2 diabetes (a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high). It is also used for chronic weight management in addition to reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity in adults who are overweight and have weight-related health problems, or who are obese. It may also have other uses.

Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Patients and caregivers should receive proper training prior to first use of ADLYXINE. Administer subcutaneously (under skin) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites for each dose, do not use the same site for each injection. Administer this drug within the hour prior to any meal of the day, preferably the same meal each day. WARNING: Lixisenatide may increase your heart rate and may affect how electrical impulses travel through the heart muscle. If you have heart disease or an abnormal heart rhythm, discuss with your doctor how Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) may affect your medical condition. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems, the safety and effectiveness of using Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) have not been studied for people with reduced kidney function. In addition to its desired action, Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, upper abdominal pain, decreased appetite. It may cause headaches, dizziness (weak or unsteady), headache, dry mouth. It may cause pain at the place of injection, hypersensitivity reaction. Contraindications: History of severe hypersensitivity to lixisenatide or any component of the formulation. Taking Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Adlyxine (Lixisenatide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
