Description
Auro Losartan (Losartan) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease). It may also have other uses.

Auro Losartan (Losartan) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer without regard to meals, however, administer consistently with respect to food intake at about the same time every day. WARNING: When used to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension (high blood pressure) and left ventricular hypertrophy (heart disease), may not be effective in the black population. In addition to its desired action, Auro Losartan (Losartan) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause edema (swelling), hypotension (low blood pressure), orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure that happens when standing up from sitting or lying down), palpitations (heart racing), syncope (fainting) It may cause pruritus (itching), skin photosensitivity (skin becomes very sensitive to sunlight or other forms of ultraviolet light and may burn easily), skin rash, urticaria (hives) It may cause hyperkalemia (high blood potassium), hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) It may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to losartan or any component of the formulation, concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus Taking Auro Losartan (Losartan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Auro Losartan (Losartan) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
