Description
SDZ Losartan HCT DS (Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide double strength) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

SDZ Losartan HCT DS (Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide double strength) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer without regard to food, however, administer consistently with respect to food intake at about the same time every day. WARNING: This medication can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Discontinue as soon as possible once pregnancy is detected. In addition to its desired action, SDZ Losartan HCT DS (Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide double strength) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, back or leg pain, constipation It may cause a decreased appetite, decreased sexual interest or ability It may cause diarrhea, dizziness when rising from a sitting or lying position Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide-derived drugs (sulfadiazine, sulfamethizole, sulfamethoxazole, sulfasalazine, sulfisoxazole), or any other component of the formulation, concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus, anuria (failure of kidneys to produce urine) Taking SDZ Losartan HCT DS (Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide double strength) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SDZ Losartan HCT DS (Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide double strength) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
