Description
Apo Medroxy (Medroxyprogesterone) is a contraceptive agent. It is typically used to control unusual and heavy bleeding during menstruation, or as a hormone replacement therapy to relieve the symptoms of menopause. It may also have other uses.

Apo Medroxy (Medroxyprogesterone) is typically used once daily for specific days of the month. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It may be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Vaginal bleeding may occur within 7 days of stopping Medroxyprogesterone. When used for contraception, the possibility of ectopic pregnancy (when the fertilized egg grows outside of the uterus) should be considered in patients with severe abdominal pain. Medroxyprogesterone should not be used as a long-term (for more than 2 years) contraceptive technique or for the management of endometriosis pain (where small pieces of the womb lining called the endometrium are found outside the womb), unless other treatments failed. This medication may increase your chances of developing blood clots. In addition to its desired action, Apo Medroxy (Medroxyprogesterone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), changes in menstrual flow (including irregular, increase or decrease flow, and spotting), or hot flushes. It may cause weight gain or weight loss. It may cause abdominal pain, breast tenderness or pain, acne, swelling of the face, ankles, or feet. It may cause headaches, nervousness, emotional changes, or sleeping problems. Contraindications: Allergy to Medroxyprogesterone or any ingredients of the medication, DVT or PE (blood clots), active or history of arterial thromboembolic disease (e.g., stroke, heart attack), undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, breast cancer (known, suspected, or history of), hepatic (liver) impairment or disease, pregnancy. Taking Apo Medroxy (Medroxyprogesterone) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Medroxy (Medroxyprogesterone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
