Description
Jamp Mercaptopurine (Mercaptopurine) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow (the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made). It may also have other uses.

Jamp Mercaptopurine (Mercaptopurine)'s dosage depends on the condition and body weight. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer at the same time each day. Administer preferably on an empty stomach, avoid concomitant milk products if possible. Take consistently either with or without food. WARNING: Minimize sun exposure due to possible photosensitivity (immune system reaction that is triggered by sunlight). Reduce initial dose or extend dosing interval in patients with renal (kidney) impairment In addition to its desired action, Jamp Mercaptopurine (Mercaptopurine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin rash, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting It may cause malaise, liver damage, infection, swollen abdomen, swollen lymph nodes, night sweats It may cause unexplained weight loss, unusual skin changes, unusual vaginal bleeding/discharge Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to mercaptopurine or any component of the formulation Taking Jamp Mercaptopurine (Mercaptopurine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Jamp Mercaptopurine (Mercaptopurine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
