Description
Apo Metoprolol SR (Metoprolol sustained-release) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and other cardiac diseases. It may also have other uses.

Apo Metoprolol SR (Metoprolol sustained-release) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Administer with or immediately following meals. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, with hepatic (liver) impairment and with myasthenia gravis (weakness in the muscles). In addition to its desired action, Apo Metoprolol SR (Metoprolol sustained-release) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause slow heart rate (bradycardia), low blood pressure (hypotension) and other cardiac problems. It may cause skin rash, diarrhea, depression, dizziness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to metoprolol, any component of the formulation, or other same class medications (beta blockers), second- or third-degree heart block (an abnormal heart rhythm), angina (chest pain), myocardial infarction (heart attack). Taking Apo Metoprolol SR (Metoprolol sustained-release) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Metoprolol SR (Metoprolol sustained-release) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
