Description
Fraxiparine Forte (Nadroparin) is a blood thinner. It is typically used to treat existing blood clots that are blocking blood vessels. It is also used to prevent the blood from clotting after having surgery, during haemodialysis, during hospitalisation for acute illness or in intensive care unit with extended bed rest. It may also have other uses.

Fraxiparine Forte (Nadroparin)'s dosage depends on your condition. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. It is administered as a subcutaneous injection, which means the injection is made just under the surface of the skin. While you are in the hospital, your doctor or nurse will give your first injection of FRAXIPARINE within 24 hours of your operation. It is possible that after you go home, you may need to continue your injections of FRAXIPARINE. WARNING: Discontinue if bleeding occurs. Use with caution in patients with severe hypertension (increased blood pressure). Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, renal (kidney) impairment. Dose reductions may be required. Use with caution in the elderly, dosage reduction may be needed. In addition to its desired action, Fraxiparine Forte (Nadroparin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause small blood clot under the skin at the injection site, abnormal bleeding, injection site reactions It may cause liver damage, angioedema (skin reaction characterized by swelling of the skin and mucous membranes) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nadroparin, any component of the formulation, or to other similar agents, infection of the heart, active bleeding or increased risk of bleeding, major blood clotting disorders, lesions likely to bleed, severe uncontrolled hypertension (increase in blood pressure), diabetic or hemorrhagic retinopathy (eye problems), injuries to or operations in the brain and spinal cord system, eyes, or ears, severe renal (kidney) insufficiency, concomitant use of spinal/epidural anesthesia (a medical treatment that keeps you from feeling pain during procedures or surgery) with repeated high-dose nadroparin Taking Fraxiparine Forte (Nadroparin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Fraxiparine Forte (Nadroparin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
