Description
Lynparza (Olaparib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used for the treatment of different types of cancers including: breast, ovarian, prostate and pancreatic cancers. It may also have other uses.

Lynparza (Olaparib) is usually taken twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. Avoid concomitant administration with grapefruit, grapefruit juice, Seville oranges, or Seville orange juice. WARNING: Hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, dermatitis (a medical condition in which the skin becomes red, swollen, and sore, sometimes with small blisters, resulting from direct irritation of the skin by an external agent or an allergic reaction to it), and angioedema (water retention), have been reported. Lung toxicity might occur evaluate promptly for new or worsening respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, dyspnea, fever, wheezing), or for radiologic abnormalities. Blood toxicity might happen and disturb blood cell counts. If prolonged hematologic: blood toxicity occurs and blood counts do not recover after 4 weeks, further evaluation is necessary. Olaparib is available in tablets and (in some regions) capsules. Due to differences in dosing and bioavailability, do not substitute capsules for tablets (or vice versa) on a mg - per-mg basis. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Lynparza (Olaparib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin rash, low magnesium blood levels. It may cause stomach pain, constipation, vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea and urinary infections. It may cause dizziness, fatigue, headache, muscle pain and back pain. It may cause cough, respiratory infections, shortness of breath and change in blood cells count. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Olaparib or any component of the formulation. Taking Lynparza (Olaparib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Lynparza (Olaparib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
