Description
SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for hypertension (high blood pressure) by adults and children ≥ 6 year of age. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not chew or crush SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan). If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Olmesartan can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Angioedema, a serious allergic reaction that causes the area around the throat and tongue to swell, may occur with Olmesartan (especially after the first dose). Use with caution in patients with kidney disease as it may worsen kidney function in patients with pre-existing kidney impairment. Use with caution in patients with unstented unilateral (one kidney) or bilateral (two kidneys) kidney artery stenosis (narrowing of the kidneys' arteries). In addition to its desired action, SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause back or leg pain, restlessness, or tiredness. It may cause constipation, decreased appetite, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. It may cause difficulty sleeping, weakness, headache, or dizziness. It may cause upper respiratory tract infections (such as colds or sinus infections). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or any component of the formulation. The concomitant use of Olmesartan with Aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus is contraindicated. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should not use SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan). Taking SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.SDZ Olmesartan (Olmesartan)
