Description
Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination of an antihypertensive agent (Olmesartan) and a water pill (Hydrochlorothiazide). It is typically used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not chew or crush Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide). If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Angioedema, a serious allergic reaction that causes the area around the throat and tongue to swell, may occur (especially after the first dose). Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, unstented unilateral (one kidney) or bilateral (two kidneys) kidney artery stenosis (narrowing of the kidneys' arteries), and severe liver disease. In addition to its desired action, Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause an increase in blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) or triglyceride levels (hypertriglyceridemia). It may cause dizziness, or headaches. It may cause diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. It may cause flu-like symptoms, increased levels of uric acid in the blood (hyperuricemia), or increased levels of serum transaminases (enzymes found in the liver). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formulation. The concomitant use of Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) with Aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus is not recommended. Patients who suffer from anuria (failure of the kidneys to produce urine) should not take Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide). Taking Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Olmesartan HCTZ (Olmesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
