Additional information
Jamp Pamidronate Disodium (Pamidronate)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated (usual range: 60 mg - 90 mg). Single doses should not exceed 90 mg. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinical setting. It is given via intravenous (IV, into the veins) infusion at different rates depending on the condition. Longer infusion times (>2 hours) may reduce the risk of kidney toxicity, especially in patients with pre-existing kidney impairment. WARNING: Pamidronate may contribute to a type of rare fracture of the long bone in the thigh (femur). On rare occasions, people Taking Jamp Pamidronate Disodium (Pamidronate) experience severe bone, joint, or muscle pain. This is usually reversed when the medication is stopped. People with cancer treated with pamidronate may develop osteonecrosis of the jaw (deterioration of the jaw bone). It may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid driving, operating potentially dangerous machinery, or participating in other activities that may be hazardous. Decreased kidney function and kidney disease may cause pamidronate to build up in the body, leading to side effects, use with caution. This medication may also cause kidney problems. In addition to its desired action, Jamp Pamidronate Disodium (Pamidronate) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, muscle pain), increased tear production, difficulty sleeping, and muscle or joint pain. It may cause nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, and dizziness. It may cause blood pressure changes (increase or decrease), heart rhythm changes, irregular heart beat, and numbness or tingling in the hands, feet or lips. It may cause increased frequency of infection, decreased vision, eye pain or irritation, and sensitivity to light. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to pamidronate, other bisphosphonates (same class as pamidronate), or any component of the formulation. Taking Jamp Pamidronate Disodium (Pamidronate) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Jamp Pamidronate Disodium (Pamidronate) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
