Description
Dicetel (Pinaverium) is an antispasmodic agent (relieves, prevents, or lowers the incidence of muscle spasms). It is typically used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), including stomach pain, constipation or diarrhea and bloating. It is also used for symptoms related to other intestinal disorders. It may also have other uses.

Dicetel (Pinaverium) is typically used three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Do not crush, chew, or suck tablet. Should be taken with a glass of water with meals or snacks. The tablet should not be swallowed when in the lying position or just before bedtime WARNING: Contains lactose, avoid use in patients with hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, congenital lactase deficiency (a disorder in which infants are unable to break down lactose in breast milk or formula) or glucose-galactose (sugars) malabsorption. In addition to its desired action, Dicetel (Pinaverium) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause stomach pain/fullness, nausea, constipation, diarrhea It may cause heartburn, headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, or dizziness Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to pinaverium or any component of the formulation Taking Dicetel (Pinaverium) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Dicetel (Pinaverium) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Dicetel (Pinaverium) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
