Description
Polysporin Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops (Polymyxin B Lidocaine) is an antibiotic. It is typically used for the treatment of infections of the external ear, such as swimmer’s ear, and relief of associated earaches. It may also have other uses.

Polysporin Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops (Polymyxin B Lidocaine) is typically used 3 to 4 drops in the affected ear 4 times a day for 5 - 7 days. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. How to apply: Lie on the side or tilt the head over so that the infected ear is facing upwards. Gently pull the earlobe upwards, away from the neck, and squeeze the drops into the ear. Let the drops flow against the side of the ear canal and gently massage the ear around the opening to help the drops work down. Keep the head tilted for a few minutes. WARNING: Avoid getting water into the ears until treatment is complete. Consult doctor before treating ear infections in children under 6 years of age. If irritation occurs, or if itch and pain has not started to clear in 2 days, discontinue use and consult a doctor. In addition to its desired action, Polysporin Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops (Polymyxin B Lidocaine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause new pain, redness, swelling in or around the ears. Contraindications: Do not use Polysporin Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops (Polymyxin B Lidocaine) if you are allergic to polymyxin B sulfate, gramicidin, or any ingredients of the medication. Taking Polysporin Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops (Polymyxin B Lidocaine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method.
