Mepilex border 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm (Polyurethane foam Nonwoven fabric Polyacrylate fibres) is generally used once (a dressing is not reused) and can remain on the wound for up to 7 days. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It is used for acute (short time lasting wounds) and chronic (long time lasting wounds) wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure injuries, skin tears and traumatic wounds. It is a unique combination of Flex Technology (provides excellent flexibility and conformability to avoid early detachment) and Safetac (means less pain and trauma during dressing changes). Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of Mepilex border 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm (Polyurethane foam Nonwoven fabric Polyacrylate fibres), or more often, than prescribed. Always ensure the skin surrounding the wound is clean and dry. Remove the dressing from the sterile pack, minimizing finger contact with the wound contact surface and the adhesive surface where applicable. Hold the dressing over the wound and line up the center of the dressing with the center of the wound. Place the pad directly over the wound. Smooth down the adhesive border and hold in place to ensure adherence. WARNING: The dressing should be changed when clinically indicated (leakage, bleeding, increased pain, suspicion of infection). In case of irritation (redness, inflammation), maceration (whitening of the skin), or hyperbudding (excessive formation of new tissue), consult a healthcare professional. Appropriate preventive measures should be taken when indicated. Glycemic control as well as appropriate preventive measures must be implemented in people with diabetic foot ulcers. Taking Mepilex border 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm (Polyurethane foam Nonwoven fabric Polyacrylate fibres) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby.
