Description
Pramox HC 1% (Pramoxine Hydrocortisone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used to relieve inflammation and itching due to a variety of different skin conditions. It may also have other uses.

Pramox HC 1% (Pramoxine Hydrocortisone) is typically used three to four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Apply a thin film to the affected area. The treated area should not be bandaged or otherwise covered or wrapped as to be occlusive, however, occlusive dressings may be used for the management of psoriasis (skin disease that causes red, itchy scaly patches) or recalcitrant conditions. Discontinue the use of occlusive dressings if infection develops. The use of tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants should be avoided. WARNING: prolonged use of corticosteroids may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection). Topical corticosteroids should be used cautiously in the elderly in the smallest possible effective dose for the shortest duration. Children may absorb proportionally larger amounts after topical application and may be more prone to systemic effects. In addition to its desired action, Pramox HC 1% (Pramoxine Hydrocortisone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause blood-containing blisters on skin, changes in skin color, excess hair growth It may cause increased skin sensitivity, lack of healing of skin condition, numbness in fingers It may cause pain when the medication is applied Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to pramoxine, hydrocortisone, or any component of the formulation. Taking Pramox HC 1% (Pramoxine Hydrocortisone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Pramox HC 1% (Pramoxine Hydrocortisone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
